LSI-Based Water Chemistry

Perfectly Balanced Water, Backed by Real Chemistry

We don't guess. Every visit, your water is tested and balanced using LSI (Langelier Saturation Index) calculations — so your pool is safe to swim in, comfortable on skin and eyes, and gentle on your equipment and surfaces.

What It Is

Water Chemistry Done the Right Way

Clear water isn't the same as balanced water. A pool can look inviting while its chemistry is quietly corroding equipment, etching plaster, or failing to sanitize properly. Balancing is the science of keeping the water in equilibrium so it protects — rather than damages — everything it touches.

We balance to the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), the same standard used by industry professionals. Instead of chasing one number at a time, LSI accounts for how temperature, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness interact together. On the Gulf Coast — where heat, humidity, and heavy summer use swing chemistry fast — that whole-picture approach is what keeps water genuinely stable.

What We Test & Adjust

The Five Numbers That Matter

Tested and corrected on every visit for a pool that's safe, clear, and comfortable.

pH

Kept in the ideal 7.4–7.6 range so chlorine works efficiently and water stays comfortable on eyes and skin.

Free Chlorine

Maintained at the right level to sanitize continuously — killing bacteria and algae without over-chlorinating.

Total Alkalinity

Buffered to keep pH stable, preventing the wild swings that cloud water and irritate swimmers.

Calcium Hardness

Dialed in to protect plaster, tile, and equipment — too low corrodes surfaces, too high causes scale.

Cyanuric Acid (Stabilizer)

Balanced so the Texas sun doesn't burn off your chlorine — critical for Gulf Coast pools all summer.

Why It Matters

Balanced Water Saves You Money

It protects expensive surfaces and equipment. Aggressive (unbalanced) water slowly dissolves plaster, grout, and metal components; scaling water clogs heaters and salt cells. Correct LSI is what keeps a resurfacing job or a heater replacement years away instead of around the corner.

It keeps swimmers healthy and comfortable. Properly balanced water sanitizes reliably and won't sting eyes, dry skin, or fade swimsuits. That red-eye, over-chlorinated feeling is almost always a balance problem, not a chlorine problem.

It uses fewer chemicals over time. A stable pool needs smaller, smarter corrections — not constant shocking. Balancing correctly the first time is cheaper than reacting to problems all season.

Questions & Answers

Chemical Balancing FAQ

What is LSI and why does it matter?

The Langelier Saturation Index measures whether your water is balanced, corrosive, or scale-forming by combining pH, temperature, alkalinity, and calcium hardness into a single value. Balancing to LSI — rather than eyeballing one reading — is what actually protects your pool's surfaces and equipment.

Do you include chemicals in the price?

Yes. On our Complete Pool Care plan (from $199/month), routine balancing chemicals are included — no surprise add-ons for standard weekly adjustments. Large corrections after neglect or a green-pool recovery are quoted upfront.

Can you balance a saltwater pool?

Definitely. Saltwater pools still need proper pH, alkalinity, stabilizer, and calcium management — the salt cell only generates chlorine, it doesn't balance the water. We service and tune salt systems as part of the same visit.

Why does my chlorine disappear so fast in summer?

Usually it's low cyanuric acid (stabilizer) letting the intense Texas UV burn off chlorine, combined with high bather load. We correct stabilizer levels and adjust your sanitizer program for Gulf Coast conditions so it holds through the hottest weeks.
