Equipment Repair
Diagnostics & repair for pumps, filters, heaters, automation.
Learn MoreMost equipment failures announce themselves weeks before they strand you with a green pool. Catch these seven early and a $1,200 emergency becomes a $150 diagnostic.
A healthy pump hums. Grinding, screeching, or a rising whine usually means bearing wear — the cheapest possible version of pump repair, if caught before the seized bearing takes the motor or seal with it.
Bubbles blowing into the pool mean the suction side is drawing air through a crack, lid gasket, or fitting. Left alone, suction leaks starve flow, overheat the pump, and let the heater fault out.
Every filter has a "just cleaned" pressure. Eight to ten psi over that number means the filter is working hard and your turnover is suffering — clean it, and if the number comes right back, something upstream or downstream is restricting flow.
Modern heaters self-report: flow switches, ignition failures, high-limit trips. Repeated codes are the heater telling you the problem is usually outside the heater — flow, scale, or gas supply — and each ignored cycle adds wear.
A pump fighting a clogged filter or worn impeller draws more current for worse results. In Texas summer rates, an inefficient pump can quietly add real money every month — variable-speed upgrades often pay for themselves.
If chemistry tests fine but water stays hazy, suspect turnover: water that isn't passing through the filter enough times a day stays cloudy no matter what you dose.
Slow seeps at unions, valve stems, or the pump seal are inexpensive parts — until the slow seep becomes the 2 a.m. gusher. We treat pad leaks as "fix this visit," not "monitor it."
The rule we tell every customer: never run a pump that's lost prime or is making new noises, and never "wait out" a heater error. Equipment damage compounds; diagnostics are cheap. Our diagnostic + repair visit is $150/hr, credited honestly — if the fix is a $12 gasket, that's what you pay.
Every weekly maintenance visit includes an equipment inspection precisely so these signs get flagged in your service report while they're still small. It's the unglamorous half of pool care that saves the glamorous half.
